A law firm seeks a motivated Bankruptcy Attorney to work remotely, handling a high-volume caseload with a focus on bankruptcy matters. This role is ideal for a self-driven attorney with strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills who is comfortable working with clients and managing sensitive cases in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Review and execute legal documents, including Payment Change Notices, Post-Petition Fee Notices, Transfers of Claim, and Proofs of Claim
  • Conduct Chapter 13 plan reviews and prepare related documents
  • Attend court hearings, both telephonically and in person, as needed
  • Draft and prepare motions such as Motions for Relief from the Automatic Stay and Objections to Chapter 13 Plans
  • Represent secured creditors in bankruptcy matters, managing all aspects of assigned cases to meet client goals
  • Handle escalated and time-sensitive cases as required
  • Participate in additional special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience: Bankruptcy or mortgage servicing experience preferred but not required; Chapter 11 and adversary proceeding experience is a plus
  • Licensure: Admission to practice law in California; multi-jurisdiction admission is beneficial but not required
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on detail and problem-solving

Education

  • Degree: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Bar Admission: An active California State Bar license required

Skills

  • Proficient in legal research and able to utilize both legal and non-legal sources effectively
  • High proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large caseload and prioritize tasks efficiently
