Job Overview:
A Houston-based civil litigation law firm is seeking an experienced trial attorney with a strong background in personal injury matters. This role is ideal for a litigator who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional outcomes for clients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, client-focused communication, and a strategic mindset for navigating complex claims from inception through trial.

Duties:

• Advocate on behalf of clients in personal injury lawsuits, handling all phases of litigation

• Conduct detailed client consultations to assess claims and offer legal guidance

• Strategically evaluate cases and provide sound legal advice throughout the litigation process

• Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, and opposing parties to provide case updates

• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses

• Participate in settlement discussions, mediations, and negotiations

• Prepare cases for trial, serving as first chair where necessary

• Conduct depositions, attend court hearings, and argue motions

• Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants in preparing cases

• Maintain organized case files and adhere to case deadlines and procedural requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 years of active litigation experience

• Proven first-chair trial experience in personal injury or related civil litigation

• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas

• Ability to operate independently and manage a substantial caseload

• Deep understanding of liability, damages, and claim evaluation

• Professional demeanor and ability to earn client trust and respect

• Detail-oriented, organized, and effective under pressure

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• An active member of the Texas Bar in good standing

Skills:

• Fluent written and verbal communication abilities

• Excellent courtroom advocacy and legal writing skills

• Strong negotiation tactics and settlement experience

• Bilingual English/Spanish fluency preferred, but not required

• Proficiency with legal technology and case management systems

• Collaborative and proactive mindset with a commitment to results
