A law firm seeks a Transactional Franchise & Distribution Associate Attorney to join its practice in San Juan, PR. This position is ideal for an attorney experienced in U.S. franchising regulations, with the ability to draft franchise-related agreements and handle regulatory filings. The role involves advising clients on complex business transactions in the franchise sector, serving both domestic and international clients.

Duties:

  • Draft and review franchise agreements, franchise disclosure documents, and related regulatory filings.
  • Advise clients on intricate business transactions involving franchise and distribution matters.
  • Provide counsel to domestic and international clients on compliance and regulatory obligations within the franchising field.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of attorneys on both transactional and litigation matters in franchise law.
  • Serve a diverse clientele, including start-up franchisors, established franchise corporations, private equity firms, and international companies expanding into the U.S. market.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transactional franchise law.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. franchising regulations and compliance standards.
  • Admission to practice law in Puerto Rico, or eligibility for admission via waiver.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Puerto Rico State Bar or eligibility for admission.
