A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Mid/Senior-Level Finance Attorney with 4-8 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing lenders and/or private equity and corporate borrowers in various debt financing transactions. This role requires a high level of expertise in commercial bank loans, alternative/private credit lender loans, institutional term loans, and other related financial transactions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent lenders, private equity firms, and corporate borrowers in complex commercial bank loans, alternative/private credit lender loans, and institutional term loans.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate financing agreements, loan documentation, and related legal documents.
  • Advise clients on the structuring, negotiation, and execution of debt financing transactions.
  • Conduct due diligence and provide legal opinions related to debt financing matters.
  • Manage and oversee multiple finance transactions concurrently, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Collaborate with clients, other attorneys, and financial professionals to address and resolve legal issues.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and legal developments in finance and debt transactions.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on financing strategies and risk management.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience as a Finance Attorney with a focus on debt financing transactions.
  • Proven experience representing lenders and/or private equity and corporate borrowers.
  • Strong background in commercial bank loans, alternative/private credit lender loans, and institutional term loans.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate complex financing agreements.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and prioritize tasks effectively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in Washington, DC (or eligibility to become licensed in Washington, DC).

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of finance and debt financing transactions.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex legal documents.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
