A law firm in San Francisco is seeking an International Trade Associate Attorney with expertise in U.S. trade regulations and a keen interest in international trade laws. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor from a top-ranked law school and 2-3 years of relevant experience.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on matters related to international trade laws and regulations.
  • Work with U.S. Government trade agencies such as OFAC, BIS, Census, CBP, and DDTC.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on export control regulations, including EAR, ITAR, and OFAC regulations.
  • Assist clients with compliance issues and export licensing matters.
  • Review and draft legal documents, including export control policies, compliance manuals, and license applications.
  • Collaborate with clients and government regulators to address trade-related concerns and resolve disputes.
  • Stay updated on changes in international trade laws and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor from a top-ranked law school.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in international trade law.
  • Familiarity with U.S. trade regulations, including EAR, ITAR, and OFAC regulations.
  • Experience working with U.S. Government trade agencies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Licensed to practice law in one of the 50 U.S. states or the District of Columbia.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Academic or professional background in international relations or international affairs.
  • Experience or knowledge of the banking system, logistics, e-commerce, or AI technology.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, Russian, or Arabic languages.
