Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is currently seeking a driven, highly motivated associate with 3-4 years of experience in labor and employment law to join its renowned Labor & Employment Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have expertise in California wage and hour class action litigation, PAGA claims, single plaintiff employment disputes, employee handbooks, and day-to-day legal advice and counseling. Duties:

• Handle California wage and hour class action litigation, PAGA claims, and single-plaintiff employment disputes
• Provide legal guidance on employee handbooks and offer daily advice and counseling on employment-related issues
• Manage discovery processes, motion practice, and the preparation of pleadings, motions, and court filings
• Take and defend depositions as part of litigation procedures
• Engage in trial preparation for both state and federal courts
• Participate in settlement conferences and negotiations with clients and opposing counsel
• Build strong relationships with clients and assist in business development initiatives
• Collaborate in a team-oriented, collegial atmosphere, supporting senior attorneys and colleagues

Requirements:

• 3-4 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on California-related matters
• Proven experience in handling litigation, including wage and hour class actions, PAGA claims, and individual employment disputes
• Strong legal writing and research skills
• Experience in discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court filings
• Knowledge of trial preparation and experience in state and federal courts
• Experience with client relations and business development is preferred
• Ability to thrive in a busy and collaborative environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school
• Active member in good standing of the California State Bar

Certifications:

• Active California State Bar membership
