Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a talented associate to join its Native American litigation team. The position provides an opportunity to represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in matters related to tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination. Additionally, the associate will handle complex commercial and construction disputes. Location: Fort Myers, FL 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation concerning tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination.
  • Work on complex commercial and construction disputes.
  • Draft, file, and argue motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy development.
  • Participate in trial preparation, depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members on complex cases.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on Federal Indian Law or administrative law.
  • A strong interest in Native American legal issues is required.
  • Experience with trial, deposition, hearing, and oral argument is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of the jurisdiction where the position is located.

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents with clarity and precision.
