A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its dedicated team, advocating for employee rights and workplace equality. Duties

  • Represent clients in employment-related matters, including discrimination, sexual harassment, wage disputes, and contract issues.
  • Assist with grievances, collective bargaining, and union representation matters.
  • Manage all stages of litigation, including intake, discovery, depositions, motions, trial preparation, and appeals.
  • Draft legal briefs, memos, and other documents related to case progression.
  • Conduct legal research and collaborate on case strategies with senior attorneys.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing guidance and updates throughout the litigation process.
  • Participate in negotiations and settlement discussions on behalf of clients.
  • Advocate for employee rights through direct representation and broader legal efforts.

Requirements

  • 2-6 years of experience in civil litigation, ideally with a focus on employment law or labor rights.
  • Strong background in research, writing, and client interaction.
  • Familiarity with legal procedures such as discovery, depositions, and trial work.
  • Admission to the Washington State Bar Association.
  • A demonstrated passion for justice and workers' rights.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with clients and colleagues.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus, with an interest in serving Spanish-speaking clients.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association (required).

  • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Experience managing multiple litigation matters simultaneously.
