Insurance Defense Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious global law firm is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Insurance Defense Attorney to join its New Jersey office. This is a fantastic opportunity for attorneys with 3-6 years of experience in insurance defense litigation to work within a dynamic and growing firm that offers a diversified global practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of insurance defense cases, providing litigation strategy, drafting reports, pleadings, discovery, and motions, and participating in trials, mediations, and depositions.

Location:

• Basking Ridge, New Jersey

Duties:

• Propose litigation strategies for insurance defense cases.
• Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.
• Draft reports, pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Argue motions in court.
• Participate in mediations and trials.
• Provide legal advice and ensure thorough case preparation.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Strong background in premises liability, motor vehicle negligence (including UM and UIM claims), negligent security, professional liability, and wrongful death claims.
• In-depth knowledge of New Jersey court rules and procedures.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Admission to practice law in New Jersey (additional admissions in other states are a plus).

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in New Jersey (additional state bar admissions are a plus).

Skills:

• Strong litigation experience and ability to propose strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience drafting legal documents and motions.
• Proven ability to take and defend depositions.
• Skilled in participating in trials, mediations, and negotiations.
• Ability to build strong client relationships.
