Job Overview:

A top-tier law firm is seeking a Restructuring Associate Attorney to support clients in both in-court and out-of-court restructuring and litigation matters, including cross-border cases. This role involves working with debtors, creditors, lenders, and asset purchasers on complex restructuring matters. The position is available in multiple U.S. locations, offering significant opportunities for professional growth.

Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in restructuring cases, including Chapter 11 proceedings
  • Present and argue contested matters in court
  • Participate in direct client communications to provide legal guidance and updates
  • Draft pleadings and first-day motions related to restructuring cases
  • Draft plans of reorganization and documentation for confirmation processes
  • Assist in the sale and purchase of distressed assets
  • Manage and oversee orderly liquidations as necessary
  • Conduct claims reconciliation and manage objection processes
  • Participate in settlement negotiations with creditors and stakeholders
  • Engage in negotiations with official committees, unsecured creditors, banks, and other interested parties

Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in restructuring, including Chapter 11 proceedings
  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction(s)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in good standing within the relevant jurisdiction(s)

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and courtroom presentation skills
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents, including pleadings and reorganization plans
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
  • Ability to handle complex negotiations with multiple stakeholders
  • Familiarity with bankruptcy laws and restructuring processes
