A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney with at least six years of experience to join its team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in insurance coverage analysis, counseling clients on commercial, marine, professional liability, and pollution insurance matters, and handling litigation related to these areas. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex insurance coverage claims and litigate declaratory judgment actions. Strong writing, organizational, and analytical skills are essential.

Duties

• Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case strategies.
• Investigate the factual basis of coverage claims and gather necessary documents and evidence.
• Draft and review coverage positions and legal documents for commercial and marine insurance coverage matters.
• Analyze master service agreements, indemnity agreements, and maritime contracts related to insurance coverage.
• Analyze complex legal issues and provide clear recommendations to clients.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to negotiate settlements and resolve disputes.
• Maintain accurate case documentation and records of all activities.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting commercial and marine insurance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in insurance coverage matters, with a focus on commercial and marine insurance.
• Proven ability to conduct insurance coverage analysis and provide clear legal opinions.
• Experience drafting reservation of rights letters and litigating declaratory judgment actions.
• Strong writing, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex legal issues.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Louisiana Bar admission (Required).
