Job Overview

A highly regarded law firm in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Criminal Defense Attorney. This position offers an opportunity to manage complex criminal cases while collaborating with a dynamic legal team. While remote work flexibility is available, candidates must be located in or near Sacramento or the Bay Area to attend court proceedings in person when necessary.

Duties

• Advise clients on their legal rights and prepare necessary legal documents.
• Represent clients during pretrial hearings, providing strategic guidance after each session.
• Handle court appearances, and trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting legal research.
• Analyze case outcomes using legal precedents to develop effective strategies.
• Manage a personal caseload efficiently and effectively.
• Provide in-depth legal analysis to evaluate potential case advantages.
• Collect and review evidence to support client defenses or counter-prosecution arguments.
• Prepare clients for depositions and develop case strategies by gathering insights from witnesses and expert opinions.

Requirements

• 4-5 years of experience in criminal defense, including handling federal, state, and local cases.
• Proven ability to manage complex criminal cases.
• Collaborative mindset, with a willingness to assist and strategize with fellow attorneys.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar.

Certifications

• Must possess and maintain good standing with the California State Bar.
