Mid- to Senior-level Private Equity/M&A Associate

Job Overview:
A law firm in New York is seeking a mid- to senior-level Private Equity/M&A Associate to join their corporate group. This position is ideal for an attorney with significant experience in private equity and M&A transactions, particularly advising clients on buyout transactions, co-investment, joint ventures, co-sponsor transactions, and add-on acquisitions. Duties:

• Advise private equity/institutional clients and their portfolio companies on a wide range of M&A and private equity transactions
• Handle buyout transactions, co-investment, joint ventures, co-sponsor transactions, and add-on acquisitions
• Run transactions with limited supervision and manage client relationships
• Collaborate with team members and assist in complex corporate transactions
• Provide superior client service, leveraging excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Manage deal negotiations, document drafting, and due diligence
• Exercise sound judgment and offer practical legal advice

Requirements:

• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in private equity/M&A transactions in a law firm setting
• Significant experience advising private equity/institutional clients
• Ability to manage transactions independently and in a team-oriented environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to collaborate with clients and colleagues
• Excellent client service orientation and a demonstrated strong work ethic
• Good judgment and ability to handle complex matters
• Membership in good standing with the New York bar

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• New York State Bar membership (active and in good standing)
