Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is actively seeking a skilled attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience in handling commercial leases. This role will be integral to the firm’s Real Estate Group, focusing on drafting and negotiating various lease agreements while interacting directly with clients and industry professionals.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate commercial leases and associated documents, including term sheets, letters of intent, work letters, and SNDAs.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, opposing counsel, brokers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Produce deliverables promptly, respond to correspondence efficiently, and manage phone inquiries.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality work outputs that meet deadlines and expectations.
  • Foster positive relationships within the firm and with external parties.
  • Comply with all firm policies and best practices.
  • Engage in various activities, including working at a computer, attending virtual meetings, and participating in in-person discussions as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Admitted to practice law in New York.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting and negotiating commercial leases and related agreements.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in New York.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the commercial leasing market, including knowledge of "market" standards for various lease types.
  • Experience with diverse property types, including office, retail, industrial, and life sciences.
  • Proven ability to represent landlords effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of clear and effective communication.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with good business judgment.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Capacity to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
