A law firm in Rancho Cucamonga, CA is seeking an Immigration Attorney with 1-4 years of experience to join their dedicated Immigration Team. The successful candidate will report to the Sr. Associate Attorney and will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, interacting with clients, and working collaboratively with attorneys and legal assistants. This role involves representing clients in various immigration matters, preparing applications, and providing strategic legal guidance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Sr. Associate Attorney.
  • Manage a caseload of immigration cases, including both non-detained and detained individuals.
  • Conduct intakes and visits to detained individuals at immigration centers.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Prepare and review diverse immigration applications, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and other USCIS applications.
  • Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration application packets.
  • Present and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and develop appropriate case strategies.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify possible benefits for clients’ cases.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.
  • Collaborate with the Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants to ensure effective case management and client service.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law, with a demonstrated ability to manage and advance legal cases.
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review), legal writing, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Proven record of managing a caseload and moving legal cases forward.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California or the ability to obtain admission.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic legal solutions.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing legal documents and briefs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • High level of professionalism and dedication to client service.
