A law firm seeks a skilled and driven mid-level associate to join its Privacy Litigation team in Chattanooga. This position offers a chance to engage in high-stakes privacy litigation matters, with a focus on managing cases from start to finish. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation experience, particularly in privacy law, along with a keen ability to navigate complex legal issues and contribute to a growing national practice.

Duties:

  • Oversee and manage all phases of privacy litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and trial support.
  • Draft and review a wide range of legal documents such as complaints, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and memoranda.
  • Perform detailed legal research, focusing on privacy laws and regulations at federal, state, and international levels.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop litigation strategies and prepare for trials.
  • Stay current on emerging trends and developments in privacy law to effectively counsel clients.
  • Contribute to a team environment by mentoring junior attorneys and fostering client relationships.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with internal teams and external parties involved in litigation.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of litigation experience, with a focus on privacy or related areas.
  • Proven experience managing case workflows, including drafting legal documents and overseeing discovery.
  • Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear advice.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with a focus on collaboration.
  • Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active and relevant bar admission in the jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing capabilities, particularly in privacy law.
  • Ability to manage complex casework and contribute to trial preparation.
  • In-depth understanding of privacy regulations and data protection laws.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and mentor junior staff.
