Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Conduct thorough client interviews to gather detailed case information.
  • Prepare legal briefs, motions, and other court-related documents.
  • Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents to assist in case preparation.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients regarding their immigration status and case outcomes.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop effective case strategies.
  • Stay current on changes in immigration law, policies, and regulations.
  • Participate in client meetings, consultations, and prepare for court appearances.
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the bar in one of the operating states (Maryland, Florida, California) or willingness to obtain admission.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law, specifically in removal proceedings.
  • Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively represent clients in court.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to immigrant rights and legal advocacy.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar License (Required in any state; preferred in Florida, Maryland, or California).

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese (beneficial).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior attorneys and legal staff.
