Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consumer Class Action Attorney to join their team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience litigating on behalf of plaintiffs, particularly in consumer law, and will be adept at handling all aspects of class action litigation. This role requires excellent legal skills, strong communication abilities, and a dedication to achieving the highest standards in legal services.

Duties:

  • Drafting and arguing motions and responses to dispositive motions
  • Attending trials, arbitrations, depositions, mediations, and other court appearances
  • Drafting pleadings, discovery requests and responses, trial briefs, and settlement correspondence
  • Negotiating settlements
  • Effectively communicating with clients and opponents
  • Ensuring all work product meets the highest quality standards and is completed timely

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school
  • An active Illinois Bar license
  • Membership in the Northern District of Illinois General Bar
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, particularly litigating on behalf of plaintiffs
  • The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience taking and defending depositions is preferred
  • Independently exercised courtroom experience (e.g., motion practice)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Illinois Bar license
  • Membership in the Northern District of Illinois General Bar
