A law firm seeks a Senior Counsel to join its dynamic Employment, Labor & Workforce Management (ELWM) practice in Los Angeles. This role is ideal for an attorney with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in labor and employment law. The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of federal and state labor and employment regulations and will be responsible for a broad range of litigation and advisory tasks.

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of litigation, including interviewing witnesses and reviewing electronically stored documents.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs to support litigation efforts.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, ensuring effective representation of clients.
  • Interact with clients and opposing counsel to facilitate communication and negotiation.
  • Attend court appearances to advocate on behalf of clients.
  • Provide strategic advice on workplace law issues, including wage and hour compliance, employee relations, and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and review employment-related policies, agreements, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, including wage and hour regulations and anti-discrimination laws.
  • Proven ability to handle complex litigation matters effectively.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills to articulate legal concepts clearly.

Education:

  • JD from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Experience with portable business is preferred but not required.
