Duties

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Explain immigration processes and present strategic legal solutions tailored to each client

  • Manage and prioritize a high-volume caseload with varied case types

  • Conduct intake interviews, including visits to detention facilities

  • Prepare and submit a range of immigration applications including family-based petitions and removal defense filings

  • Draft and file legal briefs, motions, and supporting documentation

  • Provide legal analysis to determine case eligibility and potential benefits

  • Meet with clients to develop legal strategies and prepare them for USCIS interviews and court hearings

  • Collaborate with community-based organizations, law enforcement, and prosecutors regarding immigration-related issues

  • Supervise and work alongside other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience practicing immigration law

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex immigration cases from start to finish

  • Experience with EOIR, USCIS, family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, citizenship, and detained matters

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required)

  • Experience with immigration case management software (preferred)

  • Proven success in developing legal strategies and advancing client cases

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction

Skills

  • Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills

  • Strong interpersonal communication and client-relations skills

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional time management abilities

  • Legal research and strategic problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
