Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney

A law firm in Seattle, WA is seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney to defend a wide variety of interesting and complex insurance coverage matters. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing insurance coverage opinions and litigating coverage and extra-contractual matters, along with excellent research and writing skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Defend complex insurance coverage matters.
• Research and write coverage opinions providing legal advice to a wide array of insurance clients.
• Review claim files, underlying claim materials, and policy language.
• Prepare comprehensive coverage analyses and Reservation of Rights letters.
• Litigate coverage and extra-contractual matters, including preparing and arguing motions, conducting discovery, and representing clients in court.
• Develop innovative legal strategies to resolve coverage disputes.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Meet annual billable hours requirement of 1,850.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of insurance coverage experience preferred.
• Litigation experience required; trial experience preferred.
• Strong insurance knowledge.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Ability to work creatively and develop innovative legal strategies.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• License to practice law in Washington State and Federal courts preferred.
