Job Title: Environmental Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Ann Arbor, MI, is seeking an experienced Environmental Litigation Attorney to join their team. This is a reduced-hours position ideal for a professional with at least 5 years of experience in complex litigation, preferably with a focus on multi-party cases. The role involves close collaboration with senior attorneys, including propounding and responding to discovery, conducting legal research, drafting briefs, and contributing to litigation strategy. While experience in environmental law, particularly CERCLA, is a plus, it is not required. Remote work options are available based on jurisdiction.

Duties:

  • Handle multi-party complex litigation cases
  • Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and discovery responses
  • Conduct legal research to support litigation strategies
  • Contribute to the overall litigation strategy and provide tactical advice
  • Work closely with senior partners and the litigation team
  • Assist in managing cash flow, deadlines, and communications with clients
  • Provide support on legal matters related to environmental regulations and policies (when applicable)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in complex litigation
  • Strong litigation writing skills and experience drafting legal briefs and motions
  • Prior experience with multi-party litigation is preferred
  • Environmental law experience, particularly with CERCLA, is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and analytical skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in at least one state (Bar membership in good standing)

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research and writing abilities
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively

The Michigan-based office is a recently opened practice. Area of concentration includes complex commercial litigation matters. Eight practiced attorneys are on staff. They represent clients across the country. A number of their practice disciplines consist of varied antitrust disputes, restraint of trade-trade regulation, corporate contracts-transactions, mergers-acquisitions, partnership agreements, intellectual property, and media law.
