Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced senior-level affordable housing associate or counsel with 6+ years of law firm experience to join a nationally recognized Affordable Housing team. This team collaborates with for-profit and nonprofit developers, investors, and governmental entities to develop, acquire, construct, finance, operate, and preserve affordable housing across Texas and other regions. The successful candidate will lead and manage affordable housing transactions and projects while providing comprehensive legal support to clients.

Location:

  • Cincinnati, OH

Duties:

  • Lead all aspects of affordable housing development and finance transactions, including structuring, drafting, and negotiating transaction documents.

  • Provide legal guidance on affordable housing finance, development, and incentives.

  • Manage and oversee project documentation, due diligence, and negotiations with clients and opposing parties.

  • Interface with sophisticated and demanding clients while ensuring high-quality legal advice and service.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure efficient transaction management and client satisfaction.

  • Maintain a clear and concise communication style, both orally and in writing, with clients and team members.

  • Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment to meet deadlines and achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of relevant law firm experience in affordable housing transactions, including finance, development, and incentives.

  • Ability to handle all aspects of an affordable housing development or finance transaction, from structuring to execution.

  • Strong project management experience, with the ability to lead complex transactions and manage client relationships.

  • Ability to negotiate and draft complex legal documents and navigate business and legal issues effectively.

  • Proven track record of managing client expectations and delivering results under pressure.

  • Strong professional commitment and interpersonal skills to thrive in a collaborative environment.

Education:

  • J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited law school.

  • Strong academic record.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the State Bar in the relevant jurisdiction (TX, OH, or FL depending on location).

Skills:

  • Expertise in affordable housing law, including finance, development, and incentives.

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Effective communicator with strong oral and written skills.

  • Ability to manage a high-pressure workload and meet tight deadlines.

  • Proven leadership abilities, including taking the lead on transactions and managing client relationships.
