Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its team in San Diego. This role is ideal for an attorney with at least three years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on insurance coverage matters, though candidates with general litigation experience are also encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in case management, including handling written discovery, depositions, motion drafting, and developing legal strategies. The position offers hybrid work flexibility.

Duties

• Manage litigation cases from inception through resolution, including overseeing discovery, depositions, and hearings.
• Draft and review legal motions, including motions for summary judgment and other procedural motions.
• Prepare and present written coverage opinions for clients.
• Develop case strategies and collaborate with colleagues and clients to ensure effective case progression.
• Participate in court proceedings and settlement negotiations.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide sound legal advice.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in litigation, with a preference for candidates with insurance coverage litigation experience.
• Experience managing cases, including overseeing discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.
• Proven attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to think strategically.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage a caseload independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong academic record and professional credentials.
• Active membership in the California State Bar is required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in California.
