Job Overview

A law firm in New York City is seeking a highly qualified Global Projects Construction Associate Attorney to join their team. This role involves working on a variety of construction contracts, including EPC, EPCM, BOP, equipment supply, and operation and maintenance contracts. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing teams, have strong drafting and contract analysis skills, and demonstrate a keen interest in the energy industry and clients’ businesses.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts including EPC, EPCM, BOP, equipment supply, and operation and maintenance agreements.
  • Manage and supervise junior associates and support staff, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of legal services.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and other senior attorneys on complex global projects.
  • Analyze and interpret new information, providing strategic advice on construction project issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business needs and objectives.
  • Prepare and present legal opinions, memoranda, and other written materials as required.
  • Oversee project documentation and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to business development activities and client presentations as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in construction law with a focus on various contract types, including EPC, EPCM, BOP, equipment supply, and operation and maintenance contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams and working closely with partners or supervising junior associates.
  • Proven track record of strong drafting skills and contract analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information.
  • Interest in the energy industry and understanding of clients’ business operations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to delivering high-quality substantive work and client service.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility to become admitted).
