Associate Attorney Civil Litigation (Hybrid)

Duties:

• Conduct legal research using platforms such as Lexis-Nexis.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence.
• Participate in client meetings and interviews to assess case details.
• Negotiate settlements and other agreements on behalf of clients.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings, trials, and mediations.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop and execute case strategies.
• Manage discovery processes and handle pre-trial preparation.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on insurance defense preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, with proficiency in using legal research platforms.
• Experience in litigation procedures, including drafting motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Familiarity with legal document preparation and case management.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide strategic advice.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Maryland State Bar (required).
• Admission to the District of Columbia Bar (preferred but not required).
