A law firm seeks an experienced Real Estate Attorney to join its team in Melville, NY. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in residential real estate transactions, including contract negotiations and closings, leases, and general litigation. This role offers an opportunity to grow within a diverse legal practice with a strong focus on client communication and case management. The attorney will play a key role in supporting real estate-related legal matters while contributing to the firm's broad range of services.

Duties:

  • Handle residential real estate transactions, including drafting and negotiating contracts and overseeing closings.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of leases and related documents.
  • Provide legal support for general litigation matters, including drafting pleadings and motions.
  • Assist with estate planning and related legal matters.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, courts, and opposing counsel.
  • Ensure all legal work is completed in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure proper documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of client relationships and business growth.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate law, including residential transactions, contract negotiations, and closings.
  • Experience in general litigation and estate planning preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.
  • Ability to manage client relationships and interact with various stakeholders.
  • NYS Bar membership is required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the New York State Bar or eligibility to practice in New York.
