Associate Attorney needed for Kansas City office

Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a qualified Associate Attorney to join their civil litigation defense practice in Kansas City, MO. The role involves representing insurance companies, their insureds, and corporate clients in all aspects of civil litigation. The Associate Attorney will handle legal research, negotiations, and the preparation of legal documents while managing cases independently or as part of a team.

Location:

Duties:

• Represent insurance companies, insured clients, and corporate clients in civil litigation.
• Conduct legal research to support litigation strategies.
• Prepare pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other legal documents.
• Participate in negotiations to resolve cases efficiently.
• Manage cases independently or as a member of a case team.
• Appear in federal and state courts to advocate on behalf of clients.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Missouri or Kansas State Bar (with the expectation of obtaining the other state bar license after hire).
• Prior experience in civil litigation.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications:

• Must hold a valid Missouri or Kansas Bar license (with the other state bar license to be obtained post-hire).
