A law firm seeks a mid-level Employment Litigation Associate to join its Sacramento office. Duties

  • Represent clients in employment litigation matters, focusing on wage-hour disputes and PAGA claims.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests, initial pleadings, and motions.
  • Take and defend depositions in employment-related cases.
  • Argue motions in court and participate in other litigation proceedings.
  • Provide legal counsel and advice to clients on employment law matters.
  • Manage a high volume of cases, ensuring timely progress and resolution.
  • Collaborate with team members on strategy development and case management.
  • Stay current with changes in employment law and regulations, particularly in California.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in employment litigation, with a focus on wage-hour and class action cases.
  • Proven ability to draft complex legal documents and effectively argue motions.
  • Strong experience in handling depositions and discovery procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Comfortable working independently while being a strong team player.
  • Demonstrated interest in labor and employment law, even if the candidate comes from a broader litigation background.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California Bar, in good standing.
