Job Overview: We are hiring on behalf of a prominent full-service law firm seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of plaintiff-side litigation experience to join its team in Lake Success, NY. The successful candidate will manage cases from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, handling motion practice, and making court appearances. This role requires a strong understanding of New York’s Civil Practice Law and Rules (CPLR) and excellent oral communication skills. Duties:

  • Handle litigation cases from beginning to end, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, and engaging in motion practice.
  • Make regular court appearances (remote and in-person) in state courts.
  • Manage all aspects of plaintiff-side litigation, including depositions and witness preparation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, adversaries, witnesses, and other parties.
  • Maintain compliance with CPLR and Supreme Court rules.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure successful outcomes for clients.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in New York State.
  • 3-5 years of experience in litigation, particularly in state courts and plaintiff-side cases.
  • Strong knowledge of the CPLR and Supreme Court rules.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active New York State Bar License (required).
