A reputable criminal defense law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join its Houston, Texas office. This role is ideal for an attorney who is passionate about client advocacy, strategic litigation, and delivering high-quality legal representation. The successful candidate will manage a dynamic caseload and guide clients through the complexities of the criminal justice system with compassion, responsiveness, and professionalism.

Location

  • Houston, Texas

Duties

  • Represent clients in misdemeanor and felony criminal matters in Texas courts

  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies

  • Prepare and file motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda

  • Attend court hearings, pretrial conferences, and trials

  • Advise clients on their legal rights, options, and potential outcomes

  • Negotiate plea deals and settlements with prosecutors

  • Maintain proactive and clear communication with clients throughout their case

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas

  • Experience in Texas criminal law preferred

  • Trial experience or strong desire to develop courtroom litigation skills

  • Strong client advocacy and case management skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing with the Texas State Bar
