Redevelopment, Land Use & Zoning Senior Attorney

Job Overview:

A prominent law firm specializing in Bankruptcy & Creditors Rights Litigation is seeking an experienced Senior Attorney to join its Redevelopment, Land Use & Zoning Group in Roseland, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of relevant experience handling development applications from inception to completion, with expertise in representing developers before planning and zoning boards. This role requires a deep understanding of Municipal Land Use Law, with experience in redevelopment agreements being highly preferred.

Location:

• Roseland, New Jersey

Duties:

• Handle all aspects of development applications, including preparation, submission, and follow-up from inception to completion.
• Represent developers in front of planning boards and zoning boards, acting as first chair.
• Address resolution compliance and post-approval issues related to land use and development.
• Negotiate redevelopment agreements and assist clients in navigating the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law.
• Provide legal counsel on matters related to Municipal Land Use Law.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients on various redevelopment, zoning, and land use projects.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in redevelopment, land use, and zoning law.
• First chair experience representing developers before planning boards and zoning boards.
• Strong understanding of Municipal Land Use Law.
• Experience with redevelopment agreements and familiarity with Local Redevelopment and Housing Law is preferred.
• New Jersey bar admission is required.
• Admission to the New York bar or other jurisdictions is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar admission in New Jersey is required.
• Bar admission in New York or other jurisdictions is a plus.
