A law firm seeks an experienced Finance Partner to join its Corporate and Finance practice group in Buffalo, NY. This role involves leading high-profile finance transactions, including complex commercial finance deals. The firm offers a collaborative environment aimed at helping professionals and clients grow together.

Duties:

  • Represent a diverse array of clients, including lenders, borrowers, sponsors, and institutional investors, in a wide range of commercial finance transactions.
  • Handle both secured and unsecured financing transactions, including asset-based finance, cash flow finance, senior and subordinated debt, mezzanine, and leveraged acquisition financing.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel on structured finance, private credit, and direct lending transactions.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review key finance-related documents such as inter-creditor agreements, loan agreements, and opinion letters.
  • Collaborate with other practice areas to offer clients comprehensive legal solutions for complex transactions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial finance law.
  • Proven expertise in negotiating and structuring secured and unsecured finance transactions.
  • Strong experience with commercial mortgage transactions, leveraged acquisitions, cross-border financings, and senior and subordinated debt.
  • Ability to provide legal support to a variety of financial institutions, including banks, servicers, and non-traditional lenders.
  • Familiarity with U.S.-based and international finance markets.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction (New York).

Skills:

  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and legal research abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-stakes transactions concurrently.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration across practice groups.
