A law firm seeks a Professional Support Attorney to join its team in Houston, TX. This role involves supporting the strategic growth, business development, and knowledge management efforts of the firm’s complex commercial litigation practice. The ideal candidate will work closely with partners and legal teams to enhance the group’s market presence, streamline internal processes, and support client engagement initiatives.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with partners and attorneys to develop and execute strategic marketing and business development plans tailored to the practice group’s objectives.
  • Create, update, and manage practice-specific materials, including brochures, attorney biographies, and website content.
  • Track and monitor litigation matters, ensuring timely reporting to league tables, publications, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and develop compelling pitch materials.
  • Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities and strategies to enhance profitability.
  • Draft articles, thought leadership pieces, and client-facing communications to elevate the firm’s profile.
  • Organize and contribute to conferences, seminars, and events to promote the practice group.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in complex commercial litigation or a closely related practice area.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with precision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in conducting market research and analyzing business development opportunities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing membership with a state bar (preferably Texas, or eligible for admission without examination).

Skills:

  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills for creating persuasive and professional materials.
  • Familiarity with business development processes and tools within a law firm environment.
  • Ability to synthesize complex legal and market information into actionable strategies.
