Job Overview: A well-established law firm is looking to hire a talented and experienced Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong background in insurance coverage and commercial litigation, particularly in professional liability, general liability, and directors & officers insurance policies. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work independently while collaborating with a team in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Manage and handle a diverse caseload related to insurance and reinsurance litigation.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on coverage issues under various insurance policies.
  • Represent clients in court and at hearings, as well as negotiate settlements.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery materials.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex insurance-related matters.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys to develop case strategies and execute litigation plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring effective communication and service.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations related to insurance and reinsurance.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
  • Strong experience with professional liability, general liability, and directors' & officers' insurance policies.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in North Carolina.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of insurance and reinsurance law.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to think critically and solve complex legal problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional relationships with clients.
