Job Overview

A growing California-based real estate and business law firm is seeking a Transactional Attorney with experience in common interest developments (HOA law), real estate contracts, and related matters. This position involves working in a collaborative and client-focused environment on matters that impact homeowner associations and other real estate entities. The ideal candidate will possess strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills and be able to effectively manage transactional work from start to finish. Hybrid work options are available.

Duties

  • Draft and review contracts, transactional documents, and legal correspondence

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on HOA and real estate law matters

  • Assist clients with interpretation of governing documents and compliance with applicable statutes

  • Work on amendments, restatements, and enforcement of CC&Rs and bylaws

  • Participate in meetings and provide support on corporate governance and regulatory compliance

  • Conduct legal research and draft opinion letters or memoranda as needed

  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure timely and efficient client service

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in transactional or real estate/HOA law

  • Strong knowledge of contracts and California real estate law

  • Prior experience working with common interest developments preferred

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of California

  • In good standing with the California State Bar

Skills

  • Excellent drafting and legal writing skills

  • Effective verbal communication and client-relations abilities

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving mindset

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word (including advanced formatting), Adobe Acrobat, and Westlaw

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
