This role offers the chance to represent clients in a fast-paced, high-volume legal environment. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of criminal defense cases, including providing court representation, negotiating plea offers, reviewing discovery, preparing motions, and engaging directly with clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and fluency in Spanish.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in court, including hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.

  • Communicate with clients, offering updates on case statuses and legal options.

  • Review and analyze discovery documents to ensure thorough case preparation.

  • Draft and file legal motions, documents, and pleadings.

  • Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients and provide legal advice.

  • Negotiate plea offers and advocate on behalf of clients.

  • Maintain organized case files and manage case management systems.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the Florida Bar.

  • 1-3 years of experience in criminal defense or a related field preferred.

  • Fluency in Spanish is required for effective communication with clients and stakeholders.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to think critically and solve complex legal issues.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients and colleagues.

  • Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and ensuring client satisfaction.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to the Florida Bar.

  • Active membership in the Florida Bar.
