Job Overview:
A well-established law firm, located in New York City, NY, is seeking an experienced Patent Agent to join its Patent Prosecution & Litigation Practice Group. This role specializes in Electrical Engineering & Software or Mechanical fields. The successful candidate will contribute to patent prosecution, application drafting, and the management of IP-related litigation.

Duties:

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications for clients in electrical engineering, software, and mechanical disciplines.
• Draft and file patent applications, including responses to office actions, claims amendments, and other related filings.
• Work closely with patent attorneys to develop case strategies for patent litigation matters.
• Provide strategic advice on patent portfolio management and IP litigation.
• Collaborate with inventors to assess, analyze, and draft technical disclosures.
• Stay up-to-date with evolving patent laws and technological developments to advise clients effectively.
• Assist in preparing legal documents for patent litigation, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in patent prosecution and application drafting.
• Strong technical background in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields (e.g., Physics, Mathematics).
• Must be registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.

Education:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Certifications:

• USPTO registration required.

Skills:
