Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Trial Attorney to join its litigation team in Wilmington, NC. The ideal candidate will be a tenacious and authentic legal professional with extensive experience in personal injury litigation. This role requires strong leadership skills, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients. The Senior Trial Attorney will lead a team of associates and paralegals while contributing to the firm’s growth and success.

Location:
Wilmington, NC

Duties:

  • Lead and mentor associate attorneys and paralegals within the litigation department
  • Analyze evidence, including medical records and investigative findings
  • Interview clients and witnesses, consult field experts, and research statutes and case law
  • Prepare legal documents such as briefs, motions, pleadings, and other correspondence
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to determine case strategies and provide legal solutions
  • Resolve cases through mediation, arbitration, and trial to achieve the best possible outcome for clients
  • Evaluate and streamline processes within the litigation department to improve efficiency
  • Participate in weekly and biweekly meetings, including one-on-one sessions with direct reports
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives, including podcasts, blogs, and advertising campaigns

Requirements:

  • Active member of the North Carolina Bar Association (required)
  • Active member of the South Carolina Bar Association (preferred)
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in personal injury litigation
  • Strong proficiency in legal writing, research, negotiation, and public speaking
  • Authentic and persuasive communication and oratory skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Experience with Needles Neos Case Management Software (preferred)
  • Passion for client advocacy and maintaining a positive, results-oriented attitude

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in North Carolina (required)
  • Active Bar membership in South Carolina (a plus)
