Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its dynamic litigation team in Purchase, NY. Duties:

  • Oversee an independent caseload under the guidance of senior partners.
  • Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft memorandums of law.
  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and court conferences.
  • Prepare and handle depositions, both as counsel and in defense.
  • Attend site inspections and collaborate with expert witnesses.
  • Participate in trial preparation and attend trials as required.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in litigation, specifically representing architects, and engineers, or handling construction-related claims.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar is required; admission to the Connecticut Bar is a plus but not mandatory.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the New York Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in litigation processes, including discovery and trial preparation.
  • Familiarity with construction law or insurance defense is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
