Job Overview:

A well-established law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a passion for defending workers' compensation claims and a desire to be part of a dynamic legal team that advocates for clients in various legal matters. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience in workers' compensation defense, along with the ability to handle cases from start to finish, including mediation, arbitration, trials, and appeals.

Duties:

  • Review and prepare summaries of medical records to advocate for clients.
  • Draft and respond to discovery-related motions.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, attending regularly to ensure favorable outcomes.
  • Take and defend depositions of both fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
  • Prepare and submit initial, interim, pre-trial, and trial reports, including appellate activity.
  • Collaborate with clients to prepare for depositions.
  • Actively participate in trial preparation, including drafting motions and engaging in discovery.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.
  • 3-10 years of experience in Workers' Compensation defense.
  • Strong litigation skills, including deposition and trial experience.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar is required.

Certifications:

  • Florida Bar admission is mandatory.

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and case preparation.
