Job Overview

A respected litigation-focused law firm based in Atlanta, GA is seeking a mid-level associate attorney to contribute to its growing practice. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated litigator with 3–5 years of relevant defense experience seeking challenging, high-stakes legal work across diverse practice areas. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with seasoned trial attorneys and take an active role in all phases of complex litigation—from pre-suit assessments to appeals.

Duties

• Handle a variety of litigation matters, primarily in the areas of:

  • Premises liability

  • Transportation-related claims

  • Product liability defense

• Conduct legal investigations and draft case strategies

• Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents

• Take and defend depositions

• Engage in settlement discussions, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation

• Assist with trial proceedings and appellate briefings

• Perform in-depth legal research, including due diligence on individuals, corporate entities, and site conditions

• Interact with clients and opposing counsel, offering strategic counsel and updates throughout the litigation

Requirements

• 3-5 years of litigation experience with a focus on civil defense

• Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently and collaboratively

• Proven deposition and motion practice experience

• Comfortable navigating all phases of litigation from initial investigation through trial or resolution

• Strong courtroom presence and strategic thinking capabilities

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active and in good standing with the Georgia State Bar

Skills

• Proficiency in legal research tools and litigation technology
