A law firm seeks a motivated Junior Attorney to join its Burbank, CA office. This position is ideal for recent law school graduates looking to advance their legal careers by working alongside experienced attorneys and paralegals. The successful candidate will assist in various legal tasks, including conducting research and drafting documents, while gaining valuable courtroom experience.

Duties

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and paralegals to resolve cases efficiently through effective communication.
  • Draft a variety of legal documents, such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts for use in proceedings and negotiations.
  • Attend court hearings and other legal proceedings, conducting legal research and providing support to senior attorneys in offering legal counsel.
  • Analyze client issues, evaluate available options, and diligently determine the best course of action for each case.
  • Maintain organized client files to ensure easy access to current information for other attorneys and staff.
  • Stay informed on legal authorities and recent case law to provide up-to-date advice.
  • Engage with clients to assess their cases and provide necessary legal insights.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California Bar.
  • Solid communication and problem-solving skills to effectively work with clients and colleagues.
  • Preparedness to learn from senior attorneys to meet client needs and expand the firm's client base.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Experience in unlawful detainers is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California Bar is required.
  • Membership with the American Bar Association (ABA) is preferred.
