A law firm seeks an experienced Family Law Associate Attorney to join their team full-time in Vista, CA. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing family law cases, from drafting legal documents to representing clients in court. This position offers an opportunity to grow professionally while providing valuable support to clients navigating family-related legal matters. The firm promotes a collaborative, team-oriented environment, and the new hire will be encouraged to take an active role in the firm’s success.

Duties:

  • Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring thorough case management aligned with client goals.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and responses for family law matters including requests for orders, discovery, declarations, judgments, marital settlement agreements, and points and authorities.
  • Represent clients in various court appearances, including status conference hearings, domestic violence proceedings, and settlement conferences.
  • Assist in client meetings, collaborating with opposing counsel and other professionals.
  • Support senior attorneys by researching, writing motions, and preparing legal documents.
  • Aid in client relationship building and contribute to new client development efforts.

Requirements:

  • Active California Bar License in good standing.
  • Proven experience in Family Law, with a strong grasp of the California Family Code, the Code of Civil Procedure, and San Diego Superior Court Local Rules.
  • Strong communication, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines and working independently.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated, capable of handling tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with financial disclosure requirements and discovery procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a case from initiation to resolution, managing all procedural steps effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • California Bar License (Required)
