Commercial Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Potomac, MD, is seeking a skilled Commercial Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess strong client communication skills, demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively, exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and exercise sound judgment in handling complex legal matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research and analysis on commercial litigation matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.
• Manage all aspects of discovery, including document review and production.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients on litigation strategies.
• Collaborate effectively with partners, associates, and support staff to achieve client objectives.
• Maintain organized case files and documentation.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Maryland Bar is required; admission to the D.C. Bar and Virginia Bar is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience practicing commercial litigation, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Proven track record of handling complex litigation matters from inception to resolution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and achieving client satisfaction.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with electronic discovery platforms and litigation support tools.
• Familiarity with state and federal court procedures in Maryland, D.C., and Virginia.
