A law firm is seeking a Securities Litigation Associate Attorney for their New York City office. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in securities litigation, with substantial knowledge of federal securities laws and experience in defending class actions asserting violations of these laws. Strong legal research skills are essential. Candidates must be Bar licensed in New York or immediately eligible for admission on waiver.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in securities litigation matters, including class actions and individual lawsuits asserting violations of federal securities laws.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis related to securities regulations and case law.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies for defending clients in securities litigation cases.
  • Manage case files, coordinate with clients, and interact with opposing counsel to facilitate case resolution.
  • Prepare and present arguments in court, including hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external experts to support case development and strategy.
  • Stay updated on developments in securities law, regulations, and industry trends affecting litigation.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in New York or immediate eligibility for admission on waiver.
  • 2+ years of experience in securities litigation, preferably at a nationally recognized firm or with relevant legal experience.
  • Substantial knowledge of federal securities laws and experience in defending class actions related to these laws.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
