A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney with 1-4 years of litigation experience to join its team in Rochelle Park, NJ. This role involves representing clients in landlord-tenant matters, handling civil litigation, and developing expertise in various areas of real estate law, commercial litigation, and municipal court representation. Duties

  • Landlord-Tenant Representation:

    • Prepare legal notices and represent landlords in eviction cases involving non-payment and “for cause” holdovers.
    • Manage cases from inception through trial, drafting pleadings, and conducting limited discovery.
    • Appear in Special Civil Part to conduct trials and handle procedural matters.
  • Courtroom and Client Representation:

    • Represent clients in municipal court proceedings.
    • Assist senior attorneys in Law Division and Federal Court matters.
    • Attend hearings, trials, and depositions under guidance, to manage individual cases.
  • Legal Research and Document Preparation:

    • Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategies and provide insights to senior attorneys.
    • Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Client Interaction and Relationship Building:

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through responsive communication and a commitment to client satisfaction.
    • Participate in firm-sponsored networking and client development events.

Requirements

  • Experience: 1-4 years in litigation, with knowledge of landlord-tenant law preferred.
  • Court Rules and Procedures: Basic understanding of court rules and motion practice.
  • Traits: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to providing high-quality legal service.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • New Jersey Bar Admission required.
