Job Overview:

A prominent law firm located in Charlotte, NC, seeks a highly skilled Private Credit Associate Attorney to join its team. This role focuses on private credit and finance, requiring expertise in managing a wide variety of financing transactions. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in complex lending matters and a solid background in private credit law.

Duties:

  • Support a range of financing transactions, including cash flow deals, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and recapitalizations.
  • Provide counsel on asset-based financings, restructurings, and workouts (prior experience is advantageous).
  • Advise on both lender- and borrower-side lending issues, offering strategic insights to address unique challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with team members on complex legal transactions, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate relevant financial and legal documents, tailored to meet specific client needs.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in private credit or finance law, preferably with a reputable national law firm or equivalent experience.
  • Proven expertise in lending transactions, with borrower-side exposure being a plus.
  • Experience in structuring and managing financing deals across multiple types, such as cash flow transactions and leveraged buyouts.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in North Carolina or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical abilities, especially regarding complex finance and credit law.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-stakes cases with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in drafting, interpreting, and applying legal and financial documents.
