Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to represent mortgage lenders and investor clients in foreclosure, title disputes, and real estate litigation. This role involves handling contested matters, appearing in court, developing case strategies, drafting legal documents, and conducting settlement negotiations.

Location:

  • Irving, Texas

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of contested matters for residential and commercial mortgage lenders and investors.
  • Represent clients in state and federal courts, arguing motions for foreclosure, eviction, title disputes, and HOA/COA disputes.
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare written discovery and responses.
  • Analyze loan files, title reports, and other client documents.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case updates and resolution strategies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant litigation experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of motion practice and courtroom experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas mortgage foreclosure law and Texas Code of Civil Procedure.
  • Experience handling foreclosure litigation involving residential and commercial properties.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the Texas Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • High level of professionalism when interacting with clients, staff, and management.
