Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a mid to senior-level associate with 3+ years of experience in employment counseling. This position will involve supporting cross-border and global employment matters and will provide frequent interaction with other offices within the firm's global employment practice. The associate will be responsible for advising on employment-related aspects of corporate transactions, reductions in force, employee terminations, restrictive covenants, and employee mobility. Experience in international employment law is strongly preferred. Candidates must have a strong academic background and a willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Conduct employment diligence and provide advice on the employment aspects of corporate transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and related agreements.
  • Advise on reductions in force, employee terminations, and other workforce-related changes.
  • Draft restrictive covenants and provide guidance on employee mobility.
  • Counsel emerging companies on various aspects of employment law.
  • Collaborate with offices across multiple locations in the firm’s global employment practice.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in employment counseling (domestic and/or international).
  • Experience with a direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm is preferred.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice in the jurisdiction in which applying.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good business judgment and practical approach to legal issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
